Myopia
If you are "short sighted" you are able to see things close up, but in the distance things may appear blurred. Your prescription will recommend minus lenses to enable you to see more clearly.

Hyperopia
If you are "long sighted" you are able to see more clearly in the distance than things close up. Your prescription will recommend plus lenses to enable you to see more clearly

Astigmatism
Your eyes are "rugby ball" shaped and need a combination of lenses to allow you to see clearly.

Presbyopia
Reading and seeing things close up becomes gradually more difficult - you may need different prescriptions for distance viewing and close work.
